Store Concept, Copenhagen
What was the best design of a flagship store for an eyewear brand with a strong mission to democratise the industry? We decided that the interior design should support this ambitious mission. Thus, we produced a mega-logo to convey the brand message. For the logo, we used a warm and welcoming material, smoked oak, to appeal to all customers. This material is repeated in the cabinets and store counters. Another important inspiration for the interior design was the existing historical ceiling, which is made of stained glass. The ceiling sparked the idea for the striking grid walls with their elegant integrated small shelves to display the eyewear. From the store, a light staircase with glass walls gives easy access to the storage area below ground.
Together with the Democratic Eyewear team, De Arch has designed the interior, developed the inventory, and executed the entire interior.
